2% Books was born in 2020 from a desire for brief book reviews. Often feeling overwhelmed by Instagram captions or lengthy Goodreads reviews, we wanted to provide a brief taste of the book without the commitment of constant scrolling. The reviews come in the form of bi-weekly newsletters and cover a range of topics, typically fiction, but we’re working to extend our reading habits.
In 2021, Coco became the face of 2%, graciously (sometimes more than others) posing with each week’s book and providing her own unique rating for the reader’s consideration. Coco is the only child of a millennial who adores her, and is often rewarded with treats after photo shoots. Coco’s favourite book so far is The Diary of a Nobody by George and Weedon Grossmith because she got to pose on her playground.
Based in Scotland but hailing from Kansas, Grace enjoys sharing the books she’s read with friends and family in the UK and back home in the States. Reviews will have often have two book covers at the beginning since book’s typically have different covers in different countries. This is also to explain any inconsistencies with US-English spelling and British-English spelling.
